Former Bath rugby player and The X Factor: Celebrity contestant Levi Davis has gone missing in Barcelona, his worried family have said.

The 24-year-old was last seen on October 29 at The Old Irish Pub near Barcelona tourist hotspot La Rambla and has not been heard from since.

Close friend Richard Squire said that Davis had been staying with him in Ibiza when he suddenly decided to leave the island and catch a boat to see friends on the mainland.

The 46-year-old told The Sun: "He announced suddenly that he was going to meet friends in Barcelona.

"But he didn't say who they were and we haven't heard from him since I received a video from the Irish pub on October 29.

"There's been no word from him since and his family and everyone who knows him is getting increasingly worried."

The star, who turned out for Bath between 2017 and 2020, became the first active rugby professional to come out as bisexual in 2020, shortly after appearing on The X Factor with fellow rugby players Thom Evans and Ben Foden.

Foden said: "I'm extremely concerned for Levi's safety and well being. He's a kindhearted, talented soul who I'm proud to call a friend.

"He's bravely shared with the public his personal struggles with his sexuality and mental health and right now it's important he knows how loved he is and the support he has available."
