Celebrity Big Brother 2025: Chesney Hawkes Q&A

Read a Q&A with Celebrity Big Brother housemate Chesney Hawkes.

What are you looking forward to the most about being in Celebrity Big Brother?

"I'm 53 and I've spent 53 years with myself, so I think I know myself pretty well. But I reckon I'm going to learn stuff about myself. If you can reach your mid-50s and there's potential to do that, then that's really exciting. And I think I'll learn some stuff about other celebrities that I didn't know as well - so that's interesting. Oh and Tuesday night is the night we put the bins out so I'm looking forward to not doing that."

What are you going to miss most while you're in the house?
"How am I going to live without knowing the football results for a start!? I'm a big West Ham fan – and I'll miss doing my Fantasy Football League - I guess I'm going to have to give my phone to my son. I've just put out my album and I won't know how it's doing. So I tell you what, if everyone could go and buy the album that would be magnificent. It'll be lovely to come out and think 'Oh my God - I'm Number One!'. That would be the greatest result."

How do you think you'll get on with the other housemates? Is there anything that's likely to annoy you?
"I think I'll get on well with the housemates generally. I'm quite an easy-going guy, however I know it's a completely bonkers environment and you never know - I might surprise myself about how I react to situations. I could definitely say that I'm pretty even tempered as a person, but what if I go in there and I'm completely crackers and I simply don't seem like a balanced person? That could easily happen.

"Strengths-wise, I think I'm a good listener; I could be a shoulder to cry on and someone to confide in. And as far as what I think might annoy me - I guess we'll figure that out as we go. But off the top of my head - people that don't pick up after themselves and don't pull their weight."

Do you think you'll be an easy housemate to get on with?
"I think so - unless I discover I'm an absolute nightmare. Who knows?! I guess I'm looking forward to seeing if I last more than 20 minutes - hopefully I do."

What are you most likely to be nominated for?
"I'm planning to make friends with everyone so they love me so much they won't nominate me. I'm going to make tea for everyone, tell them all they're fabulous. My strategy is to not be nominated. Or maybe, if I am nominated, it'll be for being too charming."

Celebrity Big Brother airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
