Simon Cowell has decided to call off today's Britain's Got Talent auditions following the tragic death of Liam Payne.
The former One Direction star, who found fame on Cowell's The X Factor, died at the age of 31 after falling from the balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel room on Wednesday night.
Auditions for the 2025 series of BGT kicked off in Blackpool on Tuesday, with Cowell joined by Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, as well as guest judge KSI, who is filling in for Bruno Tonioli while he works in the US.
Day three of the process was due to take place over two sessions today, but ticket management firm Applause Store confirmed that in light of events, the auditions have now been postponed.
The company said: "Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, BGT has decided to postpone today's auditions in Blackpool. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
Neither Cowell nor Payne's former bandmates have yet to make a public statement on the tragedy.
