Former Brexit Party MEP Alex Phillips joins GB News as a new afternoon presenter.

Former Brexit Party MEP Alex Phillips has been announced as the latest addition to the GB News lineup as the co-host of a weekday afternoon programme.

The 37-year-old currently presents a twice-weekly show on talkRADIO and is a regular on Question Time, Politics Live, Good Morning Britain and Sky News.

The channel has also made a new behind-the-scenes hire, appointing LBC veteran Christian Mitchell as an executive producer.

John McAndrew, head of programming at GB News, said: "Christian is one of Britain's best producers of impactful, personality-led debate and opinion shows. He's a hugely creative and original thinker with the skill and agility to develop genuinely innovative programme formats.

"Alex is a hugely talented journalist who deeply understands the issues and stories that non-metropolitan Britons want to talk about. She has a fantastic energy that comes across on air and an infectious enthusiasm for what we are doing at GB News."

Other hosts on GB News - launching later this year - include Andrew Neil, Colin Brazier, Michelle Dewberry and Dan Wootton.
