Channel 4's chief content officer Ian Katz confirms that the broadcaster is exploring the possibility of launching All 4 internationally.

Channel 4 chief content officer Ian Katz has revealed that the broadcaster is looking to launch All 4 internationally.

The streaming service boasts thousands of hours of Channel 4 and acquired content and bills itself as the UK's largest free streaming service.

All 4 has enjoyed significant growth over the past two years, driven by shows including Made In Chelsea and Celebs Go Dating, and now Katz has confirmed that plans are afoot to launch it in foreign markets.

Talking to Variety about the project, Katz said: "There are a whole million questions that need to be addressed, and they're around mostly around rights.

"But I think the question is, could some form of an All 4 service be available internationally? And even if it was a relatively niche player in individual territories, collectively, could it have considerable scale?"

Katz also confirmed that Channel 4 will spend a hefty £700m on programming in 2022 as it approaches record revenue of £1 billion.
