Channel 5, MTV to show NFL coverage in UK

NFL is returning to Channel 5 after the broadcaster inks a deal to show Monday Night Football for the next three seasons.

ViacomCBS has inked a deal that will see NFL coverage return to Channel 5 for the upcoming season.

The three-year deal will see Monday Night Football air on Channel 5, starting next week with the Steelers against the Giants.

Presentation will come from the Channel 5 studio in Los Angeles, with presenter Kirsten Watson joined by ex-Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

The deal also includes a new Sunday morning show, NFL End Zone, hosted by Cori Yarckin, and provision for NFL content across ViacomCBS's digital properties and MTV.

The news comes after Sky launched a whole channel dedicated to NFL in time for the new season, with non-exclusive coverage of Monday Night Football also due to air on that channel.
