Court TV to relaunch in UK?

Court TV, a US channel broadcasting live courtroom proceedings, appears to be gearing up for a relaunch in the UK.

US network Court TV appears to be gearing up for a relaunch in the UK.

The channel - first launched in 1991 - broadcast live courtroom proceedings from high-profile trials around the US, most notably OJ Simpson's murder trial in 1995.

Court TV eventually morphed into reality channel truTV in 2008, but in 2018 the brand was resurrected under new ownership and the channel relaunched in the US last May with one of its original presenters, Vinnie Politan, back on board.

The station is now testing on Sky in the UK ahead of an expected launch later this year, with provisional schedules indicating that the UK version of Court TV will be a simulcast of the US broadcast.

Upcoming programming on the channel includes the live trial of Derek Chauvin, the Minneapolis police officer charged with the murder of George Floyd, and a season of programming to mark the 25th anniversary of Simpson's trial.
