DAZN has won the broadcast rights to the Saudi Pro League in the UK and Ireland, it has been announced.
The league is expected to attract heightened interest this season after a spending spree that has seen the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves and Jordan Henderson move to the Gulf State for eye-watering wages.
DAZN's deal will see three matches a week broadcast live on its DAZN1 channel and streaming app in the UK and Ireland, with the rights also extending to Germany and Austria, Canada and Belgium.
The arrangement runs for two years and includes a guarantee that the broadcaster can show every league game involving Ronaldo's Al-Nassr live.
"DAZN is constantly in the market talking to leagues, associations and competitions looking for the best in sport and entertainment for our customers," said DAZN CEO Shay Segev.
"The RSL is rapidly developing into an international phenomenon, attracting some incredible talent that will only improve an already strong and vibrant competition.
"It's a great opportunity for DAZN to deliver greater and deserved prominence for the RSL, its clubs and the Saudi game more generally, as well as adding even more quality content to our platform for our subscribers."
DAZN's coverage begins with the season opener between newly-promoted sides Al-Ahli and Al-Hazem on Friday night.
