Disney has announced that it will close down its linear FOX and Disney Junior TV channels in Germany in September.
The move comes after the broadcaster shut down its entire Disney channel portfolio and the FOX channel in the UK in order to focus on the massively successful Disney+ streaming service.
The closure of FOX and Disney Junior in Germany - as well as in Switzerland and Austria - will come on September 30, at which point most programming, including The Walking Dead, will switch to Disney+.
Confirming the news to DWDL, a spokesperson said: "We thank our partners and fans for their support and look forward to continuing to inspire them with our films and series on a wide variety of channels."
The broadcaster also reaffirmed its commitment to the linear Disney Channel in Germany, where it operates as a free-to-air service and is available in more than 90% of households.
As with other markets, the National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild channels will remain on air for the foreseeable future.
