GB News axes To The Point following Mercy Muroki's departure from the channel and launches a new weekday morning show hosted by Bev Turner.

GB News has dropped its weekday morning show To The Point in favour of a new show hosted by Bev Turner.

The programme - broadcast between 10am and midday from Monday to Thursday - launched in August 2021 with a focus on discussion of the day's major talking points rather than straight news.

The show was hosted by Mercy Muroki, who had been with GB News since its launch but announced her departure from the channel last week.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "I've decided it's right for me to part ways with GB News. I wish my former colleagues all the best.

"Will be back on your screens soon. In the meantime, I'm off to spend some quality time with the daughter and the dog!"

Turner, who has served as a stand-in presenter on GB News for some time, will launch new show Bev Turner Today in its place on Monday.

She said: "There's never been a more interesting but also critical time in British politics and I can't wait to bring you the biggest stories of the day with the best factual accuracy - and also a few of my own opinions thrown in.

"We'll engage in passionate but always polite debate, with your thoughts and opinions at the centre of it all."

Elsewhere, Andrew Pierce's new programme for the station will launch this Friday in the 12pm to 3pm slot.
