GB News is to launch four new political programmes in the latest evolution of the fledgling station's schedules.
The changes will be introduced in the coming weeks as the channel's weekday daytime schedule - launched as mostly three-hour blocks - is reworked as a collection of smaller-length, mainly hour-long and two-hour programmes.
Political correspondent Tom Harwood will anchor a new show, The Briefing: AM, in the 9am hour, while The Briefing: Lunchtime will be hosted by former Labour MP Gloria De Piero at 12pm.
GB News political editor Darren McCaffrey will present The Briefing: PM at 3.30pm as a lead-in for The Afternoon Agenda with Alex Phillips, while from Wednesday, September 8, The Briefing: PMQs will follow Prime Minister's Questions live from Westminster.
"Politics really matters to the communities we serve and our viewers tell us they like our fresh approach, especially the way we genuinely listen to all sides," said CEO Angelos Frangopoulos.
"As a start-up we set out to shake things up and that's exactly what we're doing. After just eight weeks on air, we're evolving rapidly, learning from our audience, and growing fast. There's a lot more to come."
The make-up of the mid-afternoon schedule, as well as the future of De Piero's current co-host Liam Halligan, has yet to be confirmed.
