Jacob Rees-Mogg will reportedly join GB News in "the coming months" to present his own show.
The former Minister of Brexit Opportunities hosted a weekly show on LBC prior to his appointment to Boris Johnson's government in July 2019 as Leader of the House of Commons.
According to The Express, Rees-Mogg has now agreed to make a media comeback on GB News following his departure from the government and will present a new show later this year.
The politician appeared on GB News on Thursday for an interview by Nigel Farage, who made reference to the rumours, saying: "I won't embarrass Jacob by asking him here whether this rumour is true or not, because not long ago he was a minister and the correct period of time has not elapsed before he's allowed to say any other ventures he's going to move on to.
"I just hope that we'll be seeing a lot more of Jacob Rees-Mogg on GB News. I really hope the rumours are true."
Former ministers who leave government are asked, but not required, to seek advice from the Independent Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (ACOBA) on taking up new jobs in the two-year period afterwards.
Recent advice from the ACOBA has been for ex-ministers to wait for three months before accepting any new jobs, meaning that Rees-Mogg could theoretically be able to join GB News as early as January 26.
