Love Island and Euro 2020 help propel ITV Hub to its best year on record.

ITV has revealed that 2021 has been the most successful year on record for the ITV Hub.

The streaming service has logged 1.5 billion programme streams so far this year, up 26% on 2020, while the number of users is up by 20%.

The broadcaster credits shows such as Love Island, The Bay and The Cabins for propelling the audience upwards, in addition to ITV's coverage of Euro 2020, which saw England make it through to the finals.

"2021 has been a terrific year of growth for ITV Hub," said Rufus Radcliffe, MD of ITV On Demand. "Whether it's binge watching drama, live streaming sport, catching up on Love Island and TV's most talked about moments, or discovering content for the first time, it's a testament to our fantastic programmes, as well as the improvements were making to the service, that this year is on track on to be our most successful year yet."

ITV recently revealed that top shows such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale and The Larkins will be released in advance via ITV Hub over the Christmas period.
