TalkTV announces a leadership debate between Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss in conjunction with The Sun.

TalkTV has announced that it will broadcast a head-to-head debate between Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss - the two candidates vying to become the next Prime Minister - on Tuesday night.

Throughout August, the 160,000+ members of the Conservative Party will be responsible for voting on which of Sunak and Truss will succeed Boris Johnson and enter 10 Downing Street in early September.

The TalkTV debate will be staged in conjunction with sister publication The Sun and air on YouTube and talkRADIO from 6pm on Tuesday.

The programme will be broadcast from TalkTV's studios in Ealing, in front of a live studio audience, with TalkTV political editor Kate McCann and The Sun's political editor Harry Cole hosting.

Head of TV, News Broadcasting, Richard Wallace says:

"TalkTV is proud to be showcasing The Sun's critical all-live debate to decide the country's next Prime Minister," said Richard Wallace, head of broadcasting at TalkTV.

"This synergy between The Sun and TalkTV will give the UK a great opportunity to see the candidates put through their paces."

The TalkTV debate will come the night after Sunak and Truss go head-to-head on BBC One.
