Coronation Street legend Barbara Knox has signed a new deal keeping her on the cobbles for at least another year.
The news means that the 91-year-old, who has played Rita Tanner continuously since 1972, will be a key part of the soap's 65th anniversary celebrations this December.
Knox holds the distinction of being the second-longest currently-serving TV soap star in the world, behind only her co-star Bill Roache, who has played Ken Barlow since Corrie's first episode in December 1960.
A source told The Mirror: "Barbara secured her future on Coronation Street earlier this year and both her and show bosses are delighted fans will continue to see her on screen.
"She still loves the show and everyone involved with it - and viewers want to see Rita at the Rovers and in the Kabin for years to come. It's a win-win situation."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7am on ITVX and at 8pm on ITV1.
