Coronation Street legend Bill Roache has said that he intends to remain on the soap "for many more years to come".
The actor, who is due to turn 93 next month, has played Ken Barlow since Corrie's first ever episode in December 1960 and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving television star in a continuous role.
Roache has previously outlined his ambition to become the first ever centenarian to be on the regular cast of a soap - a feat he would achieve in 2032, two years after the show celebrates its 70th anniversary.
Collecting a lifetime achievement award at the Entertainment Agents Awards earlier this week, he said: "It's a huge honour to receive this award, and I am very grateful for it. I've enjoyed a wonderful career, and to have spent so many years working on such a special programme like Coronation Street has been magical.
"I've been fortunate to work with some absolutely incredible actors over that period and made a lifetime of memories. I'm looking forward to being in the programme for many more years to come."
On-screen, Ken - who is seven years younger than Roache - has appeared in almost 5,000 of Corrie's 11,500+ episodes to date.
