'Coronation Street' stars worried about contracts?

A number of Coronation Street stars are said to be worried about their futures due to the coronavirus shutdown.

Several key Coronation Street actors are reportedly concerned for their futures due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Filming of the long-running soap was shut down last month due to the escalation of the COVID-19 crisis and is not expected to resume until late June or July at the earliest.

During this period a number of the cast's contracts are set to expire, or are on the verge of expiring, but Corrie producers are said to have put a halt to all negotiations for the time being.

"This is a very uncertain time, and that's particularly true for those whose contracts are up for renewal," a source told The Sun. "It was very unsettling for them to be sent home knowing the future isn't decided.

"The show's bosses have done everything to reassure them, but until some sort of normality is resumed, negotiations won't be completed."

Among those said to be in the category of contract uncertainty are Sam Robertson (Adam Barlow), Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor) and Charlie de Melo (Imran Habeeb).
