Paddy Bever takes over the role of Max Turner on Coronation Street for an "explosive" new storyline.

Coronation Street has recast the role of Max, adopted son of David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), ahead of a major new storyline for the character.

The 15-year-old is the son of Callum Logan and Kylie Platt - both of whom are dead - and has since been raised by David and wife Shona (Julia Goulding).

Harry McDermott has played Max, who suffers from ADHD, for the past 11 years but the part has now been taken over by young actor Paddy Bever.

Details of Max's new storyline are under wraps but it is said to be "explosive" and will pit Max against David and another character on the cobbles.

Bever makes his Corrie debut later this month.
