Ex-EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison eyes Corrie role

Cheryl Fergison says that she is open to a role on Coronation Street, eight years on from Heather Trott's EastEnders departure.

Former EastEnders actress Cheryl Fergison has admitted that she would be happy to take on a role on ITV rival Coronation Street.

The 54-year-old starred as Heather Trott on the BBC soap between 2007 and 2012 but the character was killed off in a storyline that saw her whacked with a photo frame by Ben Mitchell.

In real life, Fergison has now moved to the North-West of England with her new husband and says that she is open to appearing on the famous cobbles.

"I would totally contemplate doing Corrie and given now that I live up North and talk like that now," she told the Distinct Nostalgia podcast. "I am like 'Hiya love'."

Fergison has previously suggested that she could return to EastEnders as Heather's long-lost twin.
