The first four suspects in the murder of Joel Deering are revealed on Coronation Street.

The first four suspects have now been confirmed for the murder of Joel Deering (Calum Lill) in Coronation Street.

Earlier this week the body of Joel - who went missing on the night of September 27 - was discovered in a river, with a subsequent post-mortem confirming that he was dead before he entered the water.

The police wasted no time in launching a murder investigation, and with multiple possible suspects on the radar, viewers will be taken back to the fateful night through a series of flashbacks in the coming weeks.

First in the frame are brothers Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) and Ed (Trevor Michael Georges), who reveal in tonight's episode that they visited Joel's flat that night armed with a crowbar - but changed their minds about confronting him and had nothing to do with his murder.

Meanwhile, troubled teen Mason (Luca Toolan) was caught by policeman Kit (Jacob Roberts) disposing of a crowbar but he has insisted that it was given to him by his older brothers, who had been attempting to convince him to take part in some break-ins.

The fourth suspect was revealed in tonight's episode - available now on ITVX and airing on ITV1 at 8pm - to be Joel's former fiancée Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), who was shown in a flashback visiting Joel before returning home and furiously washing blood off her hands in a state of distress.

More suspects are expected to be revealed in the coming episodes.

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
