Lucy Fallon wants Coronation Street return?

Lucy Fallon suggests that she is open to reprising her role as Bethany Platt on Coronation Street once the coronavirus pandemic has passed.

Lucy Fallon has appeared to indicate that she would be keen on returning to Coronation Street once the coronavirus lockdown is over.

The 24-year departed the cobbles in March after five years playing Bethany Platt in order to pursue new acting opportunities.

The coronavirus pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works, however, with many productions now on hold for the foreseeable future - and according to The Sun, that has left Fallon open to a speedy Corrie return.

"It was really difficult to make the decision to leave, but I'd been there for five years and it was all I'd ever known," she is quoted as saying by the newspaper. "I'd never done theatre or anything away from Corrie and after the grooming storyline where I won quite a few awards, which was amazing, I realised if I didn't leave and try other things I might end up wondering, 'What if?'.

"But obviously COVID-19 has thrown it all up in the air now. As I left, work was starting to pick up and take off and now everything has stopped.

"But I do know there are loads of people in much worse situations than me and I've been very lucky. I'm trying to stay positive about it, but it's obviously a bit sad having nothing to do."

Filming on new Coronation Street episodes is expected to begin early next month with new health and safety guidelines in place on set.
