Former Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson has joined the cast of Coronation Street and made her debut in today's episode.
The actress - Alicia Metcalfe in the Dales from 2010 to 2015 - is playing the role of Danielle Silverton, the wife of Todd's (Gareth Pierce) new flame Theo (James Cartwright).
Todd has been confused by Theo's on-off behaviour with him and finally got his answer tonight when Theo showed up at the undertaker's with Danielle in tow, looking to arrange her mother's funeral.
Theo later attempted to explain himself to Todd, saying that he has been married to an oblivious Danielle for 19 years but he has always known that he's gay.
"I'm loving my time here at Coronation Street, it's fantastic," said Anderson, also known for The Royal and Fool Me Once.
"There's a real nostalgia with Coronation Street, some of the most incredible actors have tread the cobbles, so for me personally it's a huge honour to follow those footsteps and be a tiny part of its history.
"I'm really enjoying myself, I've got some great friends here and it's just a joy. To be part of that soap legacy, even a teeny part, is such an honour when you've grown up with it. Back in the day Raquel and Curly, Jack and Vera, Deirdre/Ken and Mike were all these amazing icons that many of us working in the genre today really looked up to as we set out."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7am on ITVX and at 8pm on ITV1.
