Sair Khan has reportedly signed a new deal keeping her as Alya Nazir on Coronation Street for another year.
The news - in keeping with the soap's policy of offering stars only 12-month deals - will extend the fan-favourite character's stay in Weatherfield to at least a decade.
Alya has been at the forefront of some of Corrie's biggest storylines over the last year, including a far-right plot which led to her being stabbed and almost blown up.
"Sair has signed a new contract that starts in June and keeps her on the soap for another year," a source told The Sun.
"She's a huge fan favourite and all of the cast and crew love her - everyone who works there is so pleased she's sticking around."
Earlier this year Khan also made her debut as a director on the soap, taking charge of a double-episode broadcast at the end of January.
