Jodie Whittaker has described her upcoming regeneration scene on Doctor Who as "simple, epic and beautiful".
After five years playing The Doctor, Whittaker will bow out in a feature-length special episode - 'The Power of The Doctor' - later this month, which also marks executive producer Chris Chibnall's final episode in charge.
Talking to Empire magazine about the episode, she said: "I love the dialogue Chris wrote for my regeneration. It captures my Doctor beautifully. It's simple, epic and beautiful."
Whittaker also gave her blessing to Ncuti Gatwa taking over as a new Doctor in the future, revealing that new showrunner Russell T Davies gave her the heads-up a couple of days before the official announcement.
"It's inspired casting. He's going to smash it," she said, adding: "Unfortunately for Ncuti, he gave me his number. So he's getting eight-minute monologues from me on WhatsApp."
The BBC has yet to confirm the official airdate for Whittaker's final episode, although it is expected to air on October 23 as part of the corporation's centenary celebrations.
