Sex Education's Tanya Reynolds is reportedly in the frame to play the new assistant on Doctor Who.
Later this year it will be all change in the TARDIS as Jodie Whittaker bows out as The Doctor, while Mandip Gill is also leaving after four years playing companion Yaz.
Russell T Davies is returning to the drama as showrunner and is in the process of casting both a new Doctor and new assistant - and according to The Sun, top of his list for the latter is Reynolds, who plays Lily Iglehart in the Netflix series.
"If Tanya became the Doctor's new companion, she'd be a unique sidekick in comparison to the likes of Billie Piper or Jenna Coleman," a source told the newspaper.
"But that's the whole point of the reinvented Doctor Who - they want to create a very different version of the time travelling adventures.
"Since they're likely to be hiring a very different actor to play the Time Lord it makes sense to select an unusual companion for them.
"But it will be a dilemma for Tanya, who may end up taking a lesser role on the cast because she knows that being a companion can be just as long a commitment as playing the Doctor."
Filming on the new series is due to begin in April.
