An EastEnders star is reportedly informed that their character will be killed off in the near future.

EastEnders star Danielle Harold has reportedly been informed that her character Lola Pearce will be killed off as part of an upcoming storyline.

The actress, 30, has played Lola - granddaughter of Billy (Perry Fenwick) and mother to Lexi (Isabella Brown) - since 2011 and was memorably involved in the 2012 live episode where her character gave birth.

According to The Sun, Harold was recently given the news that Lola would be killed in an "explosive" storyline this summer.

"Dan was in pieces. The cull came out of the blue," a source told the newspaper.

"She was not expecting the chop because her character has been a firm favourite with viewers. She'll be written out with no option to return.

"Danielle was teary but was told a number of the cast were being shown the door. No-one else has been given their marching orders yet however.

"The rest of the cast are rallying around her."

Harold's exit has yet to be officially confirmed by the soap.
