EastEnders is to welcome its first drag queen character as part of the regular cast, it has been revealed.
Next week viewers will be introduced to the nephews of Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) - Finlay, played by Ashley Byam, and Felix, played by Matthew Morrison - who arrive in Walford hot on the heels of their father Avery (Omar Lye-Fook).
Now it has emerged that Felix will be accompanied by his "fierce" drag alter ego Tara Misu, who promises to "stir things up" in the Square.
"I am blessed to have the opportunity to step into the heels of the fierce Tara Misu as part of my role on EastEnders," said Morrison.
"It's a privilege to represent the LGBTQIA+ community and to showcase the creative art of drag to both viewers at home and the residents of Walford."
Finlay and Felix first appear in the episode airing on Thursday, July 7.
