Samantha Womack reveals that she is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack has revealed that she is suffering from cancer.

The 49-year-old - Ronnie Mitchell in the soap - shared the news as she paid tribute to Dame Olivia Newton-John, who died yesterday following a long battle with cancer.

Posting on Twitter, Womack shared a picture of her alongside Newton-John, writing: "This was the most magical of evenings. Olivia and Chloe had come to see Grease in London and we had dinner together afterwards. I was so excited and in awe, she was my childhood.

"I now start my own battle with this disease and am left feeling deeply moved. #OliviaNewtonJohn."

The star, who is currently living in Spain with actor boyfriend Oliver Farnworth, gave no further details of her condition.
