Navin Chowdhry has quit his role as Nish Panesar on EastEnders after two years.
First appearing in September 2022, Nish is the patriarch of the Panesar family who had been in jail for 20 years for murdering a man he wrongly suspected of having an affair with his wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal).
Highly manipulative and ruthless, Nish quickly emerged as the Square's latest villain - and last Christmas, he almost lost his life when he was bottled while manhandling Suki.
Nish took a break from Walford after the attack but returned several months later with the news that he was dying from a heart condition and needed a transplant to save his life.
A source told The Sun: "It's not known if Nish will be killed off, even though his health is suffering, but expect the exit to be very impactful and dramatic.
"Navin has made quite the impact on the show in the two years he has been a part of it, especially as a key part of the huge Christmas storyline with The Six. He'll be missed by cast, crew and viewers alike."
The timing of Chowdhry's exit is currently unknown, although it could come as part of this year's Christmas storyline or during the 40th anniversary next February.
