Tony Clay previews Ballum future on EastEnders

EastEnders actor Tony Clay predicts "a few problems" ahead for Ballum when the soap returns next month.

EastEnders actor Tony Clay has promised "a lot of twists and turns" ahead for Ballum when the soap returns.

The relationship between Callum (Clay) and Ben (Max Bowden) has already been tested by Callum's decision to join the police force, and Clay predicts that the job will cause more problems for the popular couple in the near future.

"Callum's started his job with the police and has been fast-tracked," he told What's On TV. "He's really in the mix of things and you'll see a new side to Callum as he settles into his new job.

"There are a lot of twists and turns, but I can't say too much! Callum's job is obviously going to cause a few problems down the line, especially when he's got Ben for a boyfriend and Ben's dad is Phil Mitchell.

"It's his job or his love life. He's got this new career which is very different from Ben's 'career'."

After an absence of nearly three months, EastEnders returns to BBC One on Monday, September 7 at 8pm.
