Emmerdale's Charlotte Bellamy uncertain over return to work

Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy admits that she is still unsure when the soap will begin filming new episodes.

Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy has admitted that she is still "not sure" when the soap will be able to begin filming new episodes again.

Production on the long-running show was brought to a halt in late March as the UK entered lockdown - and as a result, the soap will drop off air later this month once ITV have broadcast all episodes that have already been recorded.

Speaking yesterday, however, Prime Minister Boris Johnson paved the way for soaps to resume filming by announcing that anyone who is unable to work from home may now return to work as long as social distancing is maintained.

"I'm not sure when we're going back," Bellamy - Laurel in the Dales - told Good Morning Britain. "We'll just have to wait and see. I know they're planning and working how we're going to do it, as a set is a very small space with a lot of people.

"What I do know is that it's going to be a very different way of working. I'm sure we'll have to do our own hair and makeup which I'm sure will be a disaster."

Emmerdale currently airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7pm on ITV.
