Emmerdale star James Chase has said that his character Tom is starting to fear that his uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles) will soon realise the truth about his villainous character.
Members of the village have gradually begun to see Tom's true nature after his horrendous domestic abuse of wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), and in recent episodes Jimmy's wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) has also figured out how manipulative he is.
In next week's episodes, Jimmy is watching on as Tom gets involved in a heated argument with girlfriend Amelia (Daisy Campbell) before being taken in by police - and Chase believes that it could be a key turning point for uncle and nephew.
"Jimmy has now just seen him dragging Amelia out of the house physically," he noted. "Obviously up until now Jimmy has been believing Tom. But the more these things start to happen, Jimmy will start querying the feeling he gets in the back of his head. It's only a matter of time.
"Until now Jimmy has stood by his side but as evidence starts to come forward and the sheer amount of people who are against Tom, I think Jimmy will have to start reading the writing on the wall at some point.
"Of course his uncle Jimmy doesn't want to believe that Tom is a bad man but eventually Tom fears Jimmy will realise the truth."
Emmerdale continues weekdays from 7am on ITVX and at 7.30pm on ITV1.
