Emmerdale star Jurell Carter reportedly quits his role as Nate Robinson after more than five years.

Jurell Carter has reportedly decided to quit Emmerdale after more than five years in the role of Nate Robinson.

The character first arrived in the village in April 2019 and embarked on an affair with Moira (Natalie J Robb), the wife of Cain (Jeff Hordley), before it was revealed that he was in fact Cain's long-lost son on a mission to get revenge.

In the years since Nate has become a fully-integrated member of the Dingle clan, while he has also got married to Tracy (Amy Walsh) and had a child with her.

According to The Sun, Carter, 32, has now decided to leave in order to "spread his wings".

"Nate has been at the centre of some huge storylines and his exit will be no different," a source told the newspaper.

"It will be dramatic and explosive and will go down in Emmerdale history. It won't be one to miss.

"Jurell has loved being on the soap but he's a young actor and it's understandable he wants to spread his wings.

"He's got a lot of talent - not to mention the looks - to become a big star and leaving the soap is the only way he can do that. Five years is a good run but he feels it's time."

Nate's exit is expected to play out "later this year" - potentially during ITV's annual 'Super Soap Week' in October.
