Eurovision winner Duncan Laurence's 'Arcade' surpasses 500 million plays on Spotify.

Duncan Laurence's 'Arcade' has surpassed the milestone of 500 million plays on Spotify more than two years after he triumphed at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 27-year-old won the 2019 edition of the competition for the Netherlands with the ballad, but it was only late last year that the song became a worldwide smash after going viral on TikTok.

In a whirlwind few months Laurence performed the song on some of the top talkshows in the US and it went on to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart - the first Eurovision track to do so in 25 years.

Over the weekend 'Arcade' notched up its 500 millionth play on Spotify - making it by far the most streamed Eurovision song ever on the platform.

Last year Laurence overtook fellow 2019 competitor Mahmood and his song 'Soldi' on the Spotify rankings, although the Italian's 187 million plays to date still leave him as the service's second most popular Eurovision entrant.
