BBC Three will show this year's two Eurovision semi-finals live, it is confirmed.

This year's Eurovision semi-finals will be broadcast on BBC Three now that the channel has returned to the linear airwaves, it has been confirmed.

The two midweek shows, which determine most of the acts which qualify for the grand final, have aired on BBC Four since BBC Three's TV demise in 2016.

Now the coverage will be restored to BBC Three on May 10 and May 12, with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark returning as comperes for the UK broadcasts live from the host city of Turin.

"Eurovision is one of my highlights of the year!" said Mills, who has presented semi-final coverage since 2011. "I'm so looking forward to getting back in the commentary box with Rylan and bringing BBC Three viewers all the action from Turin."

Clark added: "I'm so excited to be back for Eurovision 2022 and even more excited to be heading to BBC Three!

"Myself and Scott love the show and after a few years away from the physical Eurovision bubble we both can't wait to bring you ALL the semi-final action live from Turin.

"We promise we will make this year bigger and better than ever before and I can't wait to get my dancing shoes on!"

The UK's entry for this year's Song Contest is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
