Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg have been named as hosts of the upcoming US version of Eurovision, the American Song Contest.
The competition will be staged over eight weeks between March 21 and May 9, with representatives from each of the 50 states, five US territories and the US capital taking part.
"I have been a fan and love the concept of Eurovision and am thrilled to bring the musical phenomenon to America," said Clarkson, winner of the first American Idol. "I'm so excited to work with Snoop and can't wait to see every state and territory represented by artists singing their own songs."
Snoop Dogg said: "I am honoured to host American Song Contest alongside my lil sis Kelly Clarkson, aka Miss Texas."
The 56 competitors are due to be revealed in the coming weeks.
