The BBC has announced solo artist Mae Muller as the UK's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest.
This year the world-famous music competition is being staged in Liverpool, with the BBC as the host broadcaster, after 2022 winners Ukraine were unable to host due to the ongoing invasion by Russia.
Last year the UK finished an unexpected second place with Sam Ryder and his song 'Space Man', and following that surprise success the BBC worked once again with management company TaP Music to select the UK entry.
Muller, 25, is signed to Capitol Records and has been releasing music since 2018, supporting Little Mix on a UK stadium tour, performing on Jimmy Fallon's chat show and scoring a top 10 hit in the US with her single 'Better Days'.
In Liverpool she will perform 'I Wrote A Song', a catchy break-up tune that has been described as "a Bulgarian nightclub banger" by the BBC.
"I'm so excited to participate in Eurovision this year and represent the UK!" she said. "I've loved watching Eurovision all my life, so to compete in such a massive music competition is simply brilliant.
"I'm a huge fan of so many of the artists that have found success at Eurovision, from ABBA to Maneskin! Sam Ryder was so amazing last year and proved the UK can be back on the left-hand side of the leader board!
"I wrote the song ' I Wrote A Song' a few months ago when I was going through a hard time and wanted to feel empowered about relationships, so for it to be chosen for this year's UK Eurovision song is honestly a dream!"
As a member of the so-called 'Big Five', the UK gets an automatic bye to the grand final, meaning that Muller will take to the stage in Liverpool on May 13.
