Justyna Steczkowska will represent Poland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, 30 years after she first competed.

Justyna Steczkowska has won the right to represent Poland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, exactly 30 years after she first competed at the event.

The 52-year-old triumphed in national selection contest Wielki Finał Polskich Kwalifikacji on Friday night with her song 'GAJA', which picked up a commanding 39.32% of the televote against 10 other songs.

Steczkowska previously represented Poland at the contest in Dublin in 1995 as a 22-year-old, finishing 18th place of 23 entries in the grand final with 'Sama'.

Posting on Instagram afterwards, she wrote: "Darlings, once again from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your support, SMS and the second chance. You are simply LOVED! Great, wonderful and I'm very grateful for such fans!

"Let us know how you liked our performance. I know it could have been better, but in such a short time and in such stress, believe me, everyone gave their best. And thank you very much for that too! TO THE WHOLE SQUAD !!!"
