Dawn and Billy attend the court hearing to determine whether they will get full custody and adoption of Lucas and Clemmie. The judge states that the only way Alex can gain access to his kids is if he arrives and says that he wants as much. Meanwhile, Alex makes the decision not to attend the court hearing and instead steals all of the drugs from the pharmacy van.

Charles is stunned to find the drugs in Alex's car and is incensed, chasing him down and in the process causing damage to Charles's car. The pair argue and Alex admits that he was playing all of them - including Naomi - all along. When Charles goes to call the police, Alex smashes his phone and makes off with the drugs.

Charles goes for a drive to clear his head. Meanwhile, at the side of a road, Alex hangs up on his call to Clare and steps forward, only to be hit by a passing car. As he lies lifeless, a figure walks towards him and observes the scene before running away.
