Gogglebox star Sid Siddiqui has explained his absence from the most recent episode of the show, admitting that he has "been a bit under the weather".
The Siddiqui family - dad Sid and sons Umar and Baasit - have been on the Channel 4 series since it started in 2013, but fans took to social media to share their concerns after the patriarch was missing in Friday night's episode.
Most of the population are now in isolation at home due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus, and at the age of 73, Sid is in the category of those most at risk from the disease.
Posting a picture of himself to Twitter in response to fans' queries over his health, Sid admitted not being well but added that he is now "absolutely fine" and is hoping to return to the show soon.
Hi, good morning everyone thank you so much for so many well wishes. Apologies for not tweeting I have been a bit under the weather but I'm absolutely fine now and hopefully be with you soon on #Gogglebox Please take care and be safe. pic.twitter.com/zvkW2OnqBT

Channel 4 has adapted production of the popular series due to COVID-19, installing fixed-rig cameras in the participants' homes to avoid the need for them to come into contact with crew.
