Hollyoaks star Alex Fletcher gives a social media hint that she may be the next cast member to leave the soap.

Alex Fletcher has suggested that she may be leaving Hollyoaks as part of the impending cast cull.

As many as 20 cast members are thought to be exiting the soap over the next five months as part of a move from five episodes a week to just three starting in September.

A permanent one-year time-jump storyline has been devised to explain multiple characters leaving at once, although some will be departing the village before the transition.

Already confirmed to be leaving are Stephanie Waring (Cindy), Jamie Lomas (Warren), Jamelia (Sharon) and Ross Adams (Scott) - and now Fletcher, who has played Diane Hutchinson since 2010, has indicated that she may be joining them.

The actress's Instagram biography referenced her role on the long-running soap but has recently been updated to remove mention of Hollyoaks and now just reads: "BRITISH ACTRESS"

Chelsee Healey - aka Goldie McQueen - has also raised suspicion that she too may leave, having recently posted about "feeling a little heavy and dark at the minute".
