Former Brookside star Michael Starke is to make a two-episode cameo in Hollyoaks next week.

The 63-year-old played the part of Sinbad on the now-defunct Channel 4 soap for 16 years and also had a stint on Coronation Street as kebab shop owner Jerry Morton from 2007 to 2008.

According to The Sun, Clarke will appear in two episodes of Hollyoaks next week playing a cab driver who "witnesses some amusing conversations".

Both Hollyoaks and Brookside were created by Merseyside producer Sir Phil Redmond, with both soaps filmed on the same set near Liverpool.

Since leaving Corrie, Starke has made guest appearances on shows such as Doctors and Casualty and is also a regular on the panto and cruising circuits.
