Hollyoaks to skip Friday episode on Channel 4 return

Hollyoaks will air Mondays to Thursdays when it returns to Channel 4 on September 7.

Hollyoaks will return to Channel 4 on Monday, September 7, it has been confirmed.

The soap has been off the air since late July after production was halted by the coronavirus crisis, although filming resumed last month and now the show is on the verge of a return.

Before it dropped out of the schedules, Hollyoaks was broadcasting just two episodes per week but when it returns it will be back up to four.

The soap will air Mondays to Thursdays in its traditional 6.30pm slot, with 'first look' episodes following at 7pm on E4.

The show is not yet in a position to air an episode on Fridays, although it is expected to be restored in early 2021 assuming production is not halted again by a second wave of coronavirus.

September 7 also marks the date that EastEnders will return after almost three months off air.
