Swearing 'may anger I'm A Celebrity castle's resident ghosts'

Contestants on the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! are warned not to swear in order to avoid upsetting Gwrych Castle's resident ghosts.

The contestants on the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! have been warned to mind their language in order to avoid the wrath of Gwrych Castle's resident ghosts.

This year's show has been relocated to North Wales due to coronavirus and although the current Gwrych Castle is a mere 200 years old, it sits on the site of multiple previous castles - which are alleged to have given rise to multiple spectres.

Among those said to be haunting Gwrych are Countess Winifred, a former owner of the castle who is still angry with her husband, a refugee from Eastern Europe and a male spirit "who moans about being cold".

"One of my concerns is that if the producers are disrespectful to the spirits in their Bushtucker trials, with ghost themes, then they are at greater risk of coming to harm," paranormal expert Paul Rowland, who has previously stayed over at the castle, told The Sun.

"I hope the production team isn't disrespectful to the spirit world. I've seen it on TV where they asked for things to be thrown and encouraged the spirits to act violently. The spirits also get angry if they use bad language."

He continued: "I have visited the castle several times. There has been previous castles, going back to the 12th Century, so paranormally that makes it very interesting.

"As we were walking around from location to location, there was a feeling of being watched, especially in the archways.

"I'd spin my head around but nothing would be there. I'd hear footsteps behind me or sense a presence. I felt we weren't alone."

Among the contestants thought to be on the new series, which begins in three weeks, are TV presenter Vernon Kay, singer Russell Watson, Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard and dancer AJ Pritchard.
