Love Island's first contestant to leave says that she is "grateful" for her short time on the show.

Shannon Singh has insisted that she bears no ill will following her surprise exit from Love Island after just 48 hours.

The 22-year-old former glamour model was dumped from the island in last night's show after late arrival Chloe Burrows decided to couple up with her man Aaron Francis.

Shannon was then informed that this meant that she would have to leave immediately, in the process making her the OG contestant with the quickest exit in the show's history.

Asked how she felt about her departure, she said: "Very short lived! Surreal, but I'm obviously very grateful I got the opportunity.

"I'm not coming away fuming from it, I'm coming away grateful."

She continued: "I am a bit gutted. Do you know what, out of all the girls, I think it is fair it's me because I didn't have any emotional attachments to the guys, but all the [other] girls had tiny little things [going on]."

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm with the arrival of two new male contestants.
