Security intervened after a YouTuber managed to break into the Love Island villa, it has emerged.
In a video that was streamed live to his followers, prankster Omer Majid was seen in a corridor and then amid fluorescent lights before a voice was heard shouting: "You're trespassing!"
Majid is thought to have been reprimanded before being released without the police being called, although a full deep clean of the villa was then required for coronavirus safety reasons.
A show spokesperson confirmed today: "Last night a security breach was identified and an intruder was removed from the Villa with immediate effect.
"The safety of both our islanders and our production crew remains our primary concern.
"As part of our stringent COVID safety measures, the Villa area that was trespassed has been fully deep cleaned before being made accessible again to the islanders and crew."
Love Island continues tonight at 10pm on ITV2, although the incident is not expected to feature as part of the show.
