ITV has confirmed that Love Island will definitely be back on ITV2 for a new series this summer.
The dating show was cancelled last year due to coronavirus and up until now the broadcaster had not formally announced its return amid the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic.
Love Island was listed front and centre as ITV announced details of its spring schedule on Thursday, however, with a "seventh sizzling series" among its top programming highlights.
Although the show will be back, exactly where it will be staged remains up in the air and was not alluded to by ITV in the announcement.
Love Island is normally filmed at a villa on the Spanish island of Mallorca, although Spain is still a coronavirus hotspot and subject to travel restrictions.
Producers have been scouting alternative locations in the UK and abroad and, according to a report earlier this week, they have now decided on Jersey as a back-up should Mallorca be ruled out.
