Former Love Island star Maura Higgins has revealed that she was once sexually assaulted by a taxi driver during her sleep.
The 31-year-old shared details of her shocking ordeal during a Q&A with her fans on Instagram after one follower asked for her to describe her "worst encounter with a man".
"The worst one I've never ever ever opened up about and don't think even think I'm ready yet," she replied. "It was one of the scariest thing that's ever happened to me.
"I had an incident with a taxi driver a long time ago in Ireland.
"Silly me, I fell asleep. My friends were dropped off before me and I was dropped off alone because I lived alone at the time.
"I woke up and his hand was right up my skirt. Honestly, I sobered up so quickly.
"I memorised his taxi number so quick and still remembered it the next day."
Higgins shot to fame on the 2019 edition of Love Island and has since become a presenter for This Morning and the Irish version of Glow Up.
