Next year's winter edition of Love Island will be dropped in favour of an All Stars edition, it has emerged.
The second annual instalment of the ITV2 dating show typically airs in January and February and is located in a South African villa rather than the Spanish setting for the popular summer series.
According to the Daily Mail, in 2024 producers have decided to air a special edition of the show featuring a host of former Islanders from the UK, US and Australian versions.
"The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time... viewers just aren't interested in watching the show twice a year," a source told the newspaper.
"It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love.
"In terms of iconic Love Island stars who are now happily married including the likes of Olivia Attwood, producers are looking into cameo appearances so that they still involve fan favourites from the years gone by."
The news comes as the current series of Love Island concludes tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
