Disney+ reveals launch date for Loki

Disney+ confirms that the new miniseries Loki will premiere on Friday, June 11.

The new Loki miniseries will debut on Disney+ on Friday, June 11, it has been announced.

The show, which sees Tom Hiddlestone reprise his role as the titular god, is set in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame and follows Loki as he becomes "trapped in his own crime thriller".

Also appearing are Owen Wilson as Mobius, a member of the multiverse monitoring organisation the Time Variance Authority, and Black Mirror's Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who plays one of Mobius's colleagues.

The first season consists of six episodes, which will be released weekly on Disney+ starting June 11, with the finale tentatively scheduled for July 16.

The series follows on from WandaVision, which concludes on March 5, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which runs from March 19 to April 23.

Other Marvel series coming to Disney+ in 2021 include the animated series What If...?, featuring the final performance of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, a Hawkeye miniseries with Jeremy Renner and new series Ms. Marvel, which will tie into the next Captain Marvel film.
